The Marriage Braid...
Ceremony Procedure
~ The Marriage Braid procedure involves the bride, groom and representatives of the bride and groom (usually parents).
~ On the Marriage Braid, the center cord represents God and the outside cords represent the bride and groom.
~ The Marriage Braid (with the center cord attached) is in place on the pulpit/stage prior to the beginning of the ceremony.
~ Then, instead of the moms lighting candles, mom and dad (or representatives) take the bride's and groom's cords and attached them to the frame.
~ After the vows, the bride and groom braid the cords of the Marriage Braid.
